About the Instructors
A native of Amelia County Virginia,
master bow builder Alton Hill has been
crafting bows since childhood and has
been producing his trademark Silver
Star bows as well as modern fiberglass
bows for several decades. Alton is an
excellent teacher of this traditional art
and his patient and thorough approach
as well as his vast knowledge of the
subject is an invaluable and appreciated
resource to all his students!
The Primative Bow
- A strong and functioning bow of assorted wood species: Hickory, Elm, Osage, Black Locust
- Design choice of student: Native American, European, or hybrid
- Introduction to arrow making and arrow shafting, shooting styles, & string making.
